OmniQuest, formerly known as Vanderplaats Research & Development, Inc. provides three solutions for Ansys customers: The first solution is GSAM which stands for GENESIS Structural Optimization for Ansys Mechanical. This is an integrated extension that adds Structural optimization to the Ansys environment. GSAM can perform topology optimization as well as sizing, topometry, shape, topography and freeform design. The extension allows the user to setup the structural optimization problem, optimize, post-processing, export optimized geometry all within Ansys environment. Responses can come from Statics, Harmonics, Random Vibrations, Buckling, Modal and/or Heat transfer analysis systems. Multiple built-in manufacturing constraints are available to produce easy to build structures. Ansys users benefit by automatically generating innovative and optimal designs in a reliable, robust and easy-to-use interface. The second solution is GTAM. GTAM stands for GENESIS Topology for Ansys Mechanical. This is a subset of GSAM and it is used to solve topology optimization problems that can contain responses from Statics, Harmonics, Random Vibrations, Buckling, Modal and/or Heat transfer analysis systems. Multiple built-in manufacturing constraints are available to produce easy to build structures. As with GSAM, Ansys users benefit by automatically generating innovative and optimal designs in a reliable, robust and easy-to-use interface. The third solution is Iliad. Iliad is a general-purpose multidisciplinary design, optimization, and process integration software. It is a tool for design process definition, integration, execution, and automation. The design modules included are Optimization, Design of Experiments, Response Surface Approximation, and Probabilistic (Robust and Reliability-based) Analysis. It can be used to add these modules to Ansys analysis programs (e.g., Ansys Mechanical and Ansys Fluent). Ansys users can benefit from using Iliad by accessing all described MDO capabilities.
