Overview

The 2026 R1 release introduces major enhancements to Ansys Systems Architecture Modeler (SAM), delivering a modern MBSE experience and strengthening integration with other tools—resulting in improved productivity for systems engineers and subject matter experts.

Ansys SAM now supports advanced requirement verification workflows and introduces verification status display directly from the SAM UI, enabling engineers to manage requirement verification seamlessly within a single environment while strengthening the connection between Ansys SAM and ModelCenter MBSE.

This release brings full alignment with the final SysML v2 specification, offering a collaborative, user-friendly interface. It now provides a SysML v2 textual format live view from any model element, and sequence diagram graphical editing.

The underlying platform also benefits enhancements. To enable automation and connectivity, Ansys SAM introduces the PySAM API, delivered as part of the PyAnsys Open Source libraries.

Initial SysML v2 behavior execution is now available from SAM, featuring graphical diagram animation and breakpoints.

Finally, the new Ansys AI Copilot provides interactive assistance with user manuals, while a common installer and sample examples simplify setup and onboarding.
