A common use of AQWA is float-over analysis when a barge/transportation vessel carrying a topside is floated over a gravity based structure and then ballasted to lower the topside onto the structure. In this simulation fender elements with appropriate linear or non-linear stiffness values are employed in conjunction with pyramidal or orthogonal surfaces. This simulation is based on AQWA-DRIFT using a wave spectra.
