External Aerodynamics using Ansys Fluent

Course Overview

This learning material addresses customers who want application-specific knowledge which is not normally contained in our introductory training materials and was developed specifically for aero-engineers that:

  • Want to improve the fidelity of current aerodynamic predictions (low-speed to supersonic)
  • Want to acquire knowledge on how to perform propeller performance simulations
  • Want hands-on aero-specific workshops for Fluent Meshing and the Watertight Workflow

  • Spaceclaim
  • Introductory Ansys Fluent Solver

Target Audience:

Aero-engineers in the Aerospace and Defense industries

Teaching Method:

Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge.

Learning Path

Learning Outcome

  • Learn the basics of Fluent Meshing for watertight workflow method
  • Learn how to create relevant bodies of influence (BOIs) to control mesh resolution
  • Learn mesh requirements and methodology for predicting turbulence transition
  • Learn methodology for including propeller effects in external aero simulations
  • Experience end-to-end workshops focused on high-fidelity results with comparison to experimental data
