ANSYS CFX Getting Started (Also Available as Self-Paced Learning)

This course teaches the essential skills you will need to start performing basic computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations on your own using ANSYS CFX software. Instructor demos and hands-on workshops cover every aspect of the end-to-end CFD workflow, including working with CAD models in ANSYS SpaceClaim, creating quality CFD meshes with ANSYS Meshing, and all aspects of performing CFD simulations in ANSYS CFX. Course Modules 01 through 06 are organized into geometry (ANSYS SpaceClaim), meshing (ANSYS Meshing) and solver (ANSYS CFX) topics, and for each of these three topics students go through the complete end-to-end workflow of a different CFD problem.

Learning Outcome

  • Understand the end-to-end procedure of simple CFD problems using ANSYS CFX

  • Learn how to use the most important functions of  ANSYS SpaceClaim Direct Modeler

  • Learn how to  create high quality CFD meshes with ANSYS Meshing

  • Become familiar with the end-to-end workflow of simple CFD problems using ANSYS CFX

  • A technical education and background in fluid mechanics and heat transfer is recommended but not mandatory.  An engineering degree is not required.

Target Audience: Fluids Engineers, Combustion Engineers, Thermal Engineers and Aerodynamics Engineers

Teaching Method: Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge. A major emphasis is placed on teaching by software demonstration and on the development of a solution to a design challenge from start to finish.

Self-paced Learning: Complete a class on your own schedule at your own pace. Scope is equivalent to Instructor led classes. Includes video lecture, workshops and input files. All our Self-Paced video courses are only available with an ANSYS Learning Hub subscription. Register for a subscription using the tab below or contact for more information.

Learning Options: Training materials for this course are available with a ANSYS Learning Hub Subscription. If there is no active public schedule available, private training can be arranged. Please contact us.
