Ansys Three Phase Inverter EMC (Self-paced Learning Available)

Course Overview

This workshop models an EMC conducted emissions workflow for a 3-phase inverter power electronics system with multiple boards, 2D cable models, circuit-level battery and LISN (line impedance stabilization network), busbar Q3D AC models, a common mode choke modeled in HFSS, a simplified electrical motor model and a Space-Vector PWM (pulse width modulation) model.  Simulation outputs include transient output voltage, motor current, and spectral plots of frequency response. 

Prerequisites

  • Experience with Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT) and especially Ansys Circuit and EM dynamic link in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) applications (which may be gained through the early workshops of the HFSS CISPR25 course). 
  • Familiarity with SIwave, Q3D, Q2D Extractor, and HFSS for dynamic link
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic compatibility engineering and commonly measured quantities. 

Target Audience

Engineers involved in device or systems level design and simulation.

This is a self-paced course.  

Learning Outcome

In this workshop you will learn how to connect together multiple Ansys electronics and electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools, through import/export and dynamic linking of EM simulation blocks into Ansys Circuit.
