Ansys Motor-CAD and optiSLang: Optimizing E-Machine Designs (Self-paced Learning Available)

Course Overview

A detailed walkthrough of an optimization workflow for an IPM design. This workflow involves coupling Motor-CAD and optiSLang to carry out a meta-model-based optimization of a motor design. The optimization is set up using the integrated optiSLang export introduced in Motor-CAD version 15.

Prerequisites

  • Licenses for <<<Ansys Motor-CAD 2022R1 (Motor-CAD v15)>>> and optiSLang 2021 R2 are required to follow along with this video tutorial.
  • It is recommended that participants initially work through the “ActiveX Scripting” and “BlackBoxLicence_Instructions_Ansys” Motor-CAD tutorials and before moving onto this additional training content.

Target Audience

Engineers who wish to learn how to couple Motor-CAD and optiSLang software for optimization of an e-machine design.

Teaching Method

This is a self-paced course containing nine short video tutorials.

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Carry out optimization of an IPM design by coupling Motor-CAD and optiSLang.
  • Use the integrated optiSLang export tool in Motor-CAD to set up an optimization project.
  • Carry out the optimization in optiSLang for an IPM example.
  • Experiment with their own designs and design variations.
