Scripting in Ansys SpaceClaim (Self-paced Learning Available)

Course Overview

This course is designed for all the users of Ansys SpaceClaim. You will learn and get to speed in the scripting in Ansys SpaceClaim. The scripting will allow you to automate tedious manual workflows. You will also be able to automate repetitive tasks. With the scripting, you can implement your own commands and you can manage highly parametric models. You can create named selections and parameters using Python. You can do some geometric operations. You will see how to interact with the outside and especially Ansys Workbench using the scripting.

Teaching Method

Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge. A training certificate is provided to all attendees who complete the course.

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Record features and embed the recording into a script
  • Select entities using the scripting
  • Use the autocompletion and the core API
  • Select other objects: coordinate systems, components, datum lines…
  • Creating Named Selections using Python
  • Use geometric operations like creating a sketch, making copied of it and rotate it…
  • Create a parameter using a script
  • Access/Change driving dimensions
  • Read data from an Excel file by script in Ansys SpaceClaim
  • Run SpaceClaim script in batch mode
  • CAD files conversion from STP to IGS
