ANSYS Mechanical Workbench Additive - (Also available as Self-paced Learning)
This course is designed to provide knowledge about the 3D print process simulation.
It will give you a general overview of the challenges when simulating a print process. Once you have obtained the optimized shape from ANSYS Mechanical using Topology Optimization tools, you’ll be able to simulate the manufacturing process. It requires you to consider the orientation of the part in the printer, the materials to be used and the design of the support structure. This is what you will learn in this course.
This course teaches you how to use the Additive Wizard in Mechanical to define all the necessary information for your simulation. There is also a part of the course using SpaceClaim for creation of the support structure.
On completion of this training course, you will be able to:
Understand the challenges of simulating 3D print process
Understand the Lumped layer approach
Consider the Material information to provide
Create the workflow for thermal structural analysis weak coupling
Setting up a 3D print process simulation using the Additive Wizard
Track the results
Be familiar with the APDL commands behind the 3D print process simulation
A technical education and a background in the fundamentals of finite element analysis are recommended.
The completion of the following courses is strongly advised:
