Introduction to ANSYS ACT in DesignModeler - (Available as Self-Paced Learning)

Overview

This course will teach you how to create new objects for specific geometry creation in ANSYS DesignModeler using ANSYS Application Customization Toolkit, a consistent toolkit for customization. You’ll be able to create families of parts or assemblies. You can automate the geometry simplification and your own company geometry creation. ANSYS ACT in DesignModeler will also allow you to customize application specific mesh preparation.

Learning Outcome

  • How to develop the GUI in ANSYS DesignModeler using ANSYS ACT

  • Creating a geometry object   

  • Developing the Python callbacks

  • How to use the ACT console in ANSYS DesignModeler with its bookmarks, autocompletion

  • Writing a log message in the ACT console

  • How to use an external module

  • How to debug an extension with the ACT console

  • Debugging with Visual Studio

 

Prerequisites

  • An experience in using ANSYS DesignModeler is required.

  • A basic knowledge of Python programming is recommended but not required.

  • Introduction to ANSYS ACT Mechanical is required.
