Introduction to ANSYS SPEOS

Overview

ANSYS SPEOS is a photometric and radiometric simulation software that helps you simulate light interaction between light sources and materials. The workflow of an optical simulation covers the following steps: from defining optical properties on geometries, creating sources and sensors to creating a simulation for a photometric and/or radiometric analysis. The goal of this training is to help you get ready for your first optical simulation.

Learning Outcome

Following this training, you will be able to:

  • Set up a complete optical mock-up

    • import geometries to create an optical project,

    • create and apply optical properties on a product, 

    • interact with a virtual environment.

  • Perform a photometric and radiometric simulation

  • Prepare and share optical elements to third party while keeping Intellectual Property

  • Display and analyze the optical simulation results.

Prerequisites

  • This course is dedicated to engineers who have a basic knowledge of CAD environment and Optical theory.

Target Audience: Optical or mechanical engineers and designers for automotive or lighting industries.

Teaching Method: Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge.
