Material Characterization for Metals / Polymers and Foams
Overview
This introductory class is designed for attendees who would like to gain deep insight into the process of material characterization in LS-DYNA. The class provides a brief overview of all available materials models available in LS-DYNA, followed by familiarizing attendees with several tests to capture key mechanical properties.
Learning Outcome
- Learn about testing Procedures for Uni-Axial, and proportional loading
- Review of Metal Plasticity
- Review of onset of Necking and Instability
- Review of Elastomers and its properties
- Review of Recoverable and Structural Foams
- Know more of the best practices of Material Characterization
Prerequisites
- Introduction to LS-DYNA
Target Audience: This class is targeted for students and structural engineers involved in large deformation problems and interested to get a deep understanding of the process of material testing and characterization for use in large deformation problems.
