ANSYS CFX Customization
As with many other ANSYS software products, it is possible to customize the operation of the ANSYS CFX tools. There are two key reasons for doing this: Firstly, to extend the standard numerical models available within CFX, and secondly, to streamline the environment so as to make it more efficient for your specific application.
This course covers a range of skills and techniques for customizing CFX. Topics covered include the use of CFX Expression Language (CEL), and CFX Command Language (CCL). CCL can itself be controlled with embedded Perl, and user-generated models can be applied using User Fortran. The ways in which the software process can then be controlled using junction boxes and command files are presented. Parallel computing (or HPC) places some important considerations on customization, and these factors are also addressed in this course.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to extend the modeling capabilities of CFX and customize/automate the CFX workflow with the aid of:
CEL and CCL
User functions & user routines
A technical education and background in fluid mechanics and heat transfer is recommended but not mandatory. An engineering degree is not required.
Completion of the CFX Getting Started course is required.
Experience with ANSYS CFX is strongly recommended.
Some prior experience with a programming language, preferably FORTRAN, is essential. The introduction to FORTRAN itself is very firm during this course.
For the workshops a supported FORTAN compiler is required. A text editor with user-defined syntax highlighting is recommended but not required.
Target Audience: Fluids Engineers, Combustion Engineers, Thermal Engineers and Aerodynamics Engineers
Teaching Method: Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge. A training certificate is provided to all attendees who complete the course.
Learning Options: Training materials for this course are available with a ANSYS Learning Hub Subscription. If there is no active public schedule available, private training can be arranged. Please contact us.
