Introduction to ANSYS Simplorer - (Also available as Self-paced Learning)

Simplorer/Twin Builder is a multi-physics circuit simulator, able to insert in a single schematic electric, mechanical, hydraulic, thermal component and mix them with mathematical operation described in terms of State Space, block diagram, State Machines and scripting algorithm. Simplorer/Twin Builder offers the ideal environment for coupling Control drives (Power Electronics) and Electromagnetic devices (FEM Maxwell models), but also the possibility to include ROMs from most of the different ANSYS products. The capability to import Modelica, SPICE and FMU/FMI components, the possibility to increase component libraries using VHDL-AMS and C++ scripting and the coupling with 3rd party tools like Simulink makes Simplorer/Twin Builder very flexible and a powerful platform for Multiphysics System analysis.

This basic class training will teach students how to use ANSYS Simplorer for the design, modeling, analysis and optimization of high-performance systems including electrical and multi-purpose applications, and can easily be extended to thermal, electromechanical, electromagnetic, and hydraulic designs which are commonly found in the automotive, aerospace/defense, and industrial automation industries.

Learning Outcome

Following the completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand GUI and the basic behavior of simple components
  •  Build up circuits setting the needed quantities for successful simulation
  • Post process results
  • Create control logic (state diagrams) and how to control devices
  • Build new components using VHDL-AMS language and increase the component libraries

  • A technical education and/or background in electromagnetics is recommended but having an engineering degree is not required.

Target Audience: Electrical Engineers, System Engineers, Control Engineers

Teaching Method: Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge. A training certificate is provided to all attendees who complete the course.

Self-paced Learning: Complete a class on your own schedule at your own pace. Scope is equivalent to Instructor led classes. Includes video lecture, workshops and input files. All our Self-Paced video courses are only available with an ANSYS Learning Hub subscription. Register for a subscription using the tab below or contact for more information.

Learning Options: Training materials for this course are available with an ANSYS Learning Hub Subscription. If there is no active public schedule available, private training can be arranged. Please contact us.
