Coupled Electromagnetic and CFD Thermal Analysis for High-Power Electric Machines

High-power electric machines are widely used in wind generation, high-speed train, EV/HEV and heavy industrial applications. Engineering work must focus on simultaneous electromagnetic and thermal design, so an effective and accurate method is needed to solve complex thermal performance problems prior to manufacturing. This presentation introduces a new solution: seamless electromagnetic and CFD thermal coupling to analyze the performance of a three-phase induction motor.
