Introduction to Ansys Motion

Course Overview

Learn the skills necessary to model complex systems of interconnected bodies like steering linkages, drivetrains, vehicles, and mechanisms of all kinds. Understand the advantages of including rigid and flexible bodies in the same mechanical system. Efficiently simulate your system’s vibrational response and extract the natural frequencies and mode shapes. Incorporate specialized analysis models to predict the performance of many complex physical systems, including transmissions, tracked vehicles, and full vehicles.

  • A technical education and a background in the fundamentals of dynamic finite element analysis are strongly recommended.

Target Audience:

All engineers that deal with issues of structural fatigue and durability.

Teaching Method:

Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge.

Learning Outcome

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Understand the underlying technology and control the solution algorithms used to perform dynamic analyses in Ansys Motion.
  • Implement the end-to-end multibody solution process.
  • Describe the techniques for modal analysis, fatigue life prediction, and co-simulation.
  • Recognize and correct the most common causes of modeling and solution errors.
