FTGM

FTGM

Image processing of geometric and patient-specific 3-D flow data, combined with CFD simulations, provide additional hemodynamics information to clinicians regarding the formation of an ascending aortic aneurysm.

Problem:

In clinical practice, it is difficult to cope with the growth of an aneurysm due to several aspects (operator dependencies, image modalities, etc). Also, it is very expensive to perform 3-D PC-MRI tests to provide hemodynamic alteration data during the bulge formation.

Solution:

FTGM performed CFD simulation starting from real clinical data analyzed in a statistical manner to provide realistic, even if virtual, images of bulge formation and enlargement. Simulations integrated the RBF Morph tool into the entire ANSYS workflow to obtain the desired target geometries and CFD results.
