Introduction to ANSYS Additive Print

Overview

This course is designed to provide the knowledge about ANSYS Additive Print product. Working with this ANSYS product will help you to reduce hours spent on searching the optimized print workflow for part creation. This is a standalone solution.

The course focuses on the simulation aspect of the Additive Print. It is strongly advised to see this course as a part of a more general development of your expertise in the Additive Print process. The hands-on time and experience with the print machines should complete your knowledge in this domain.

In this course, you will learn how to use this ANSYS solution. The lectures cover a general presentation of the Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) process. You”ll learn how to setup an additive print analysis and review results. Finally, the calibration process will also be presented.

Learning Outcome

On completion of this training course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the DMLS Process

  • Be familiar with the Calibration Process

  • Solve advanced Thermal Analysis

  • Predict distortion

  • Differentiate the Strain Mode Options

  • Know how to generate the Geometry-based Support

  • Chose the parts Build position

  • Chose the Scan Pattern

  • Visualize and evaluate the print results

Prerequisites

  • A technical education and a background in the fundamentals of finite element analysis are recommended

Target Audience: Engineers, Designers and Machine operators working with metal printing machines.
