Course Overview
This course is designed to provide knowledge about the 3D print process simulation.
It will give you a general overview of the challenges when simulating a print process. Once you have obtained the optimized shape from Ansys Mechanical using Topology Optimization tools, you’ll be able to simulate the manufacturing process. It requires you to consider the orientation of the part in the printer, the materials to be used and the design of the support structure. This is what you will learn in this course.
This course teaches you how to use the Additive Wizard in Mechanical to define all the necessary information for your simulation. There is also a part of the course using SpaceClaim for creation of the support structure.
Prerequisites
A technical education and a background in the fundamentals of finite element analysis are recommended.
The completion of the following courses is strongly advised:
- Ansys Mechanical Getting Started
- Introduction to Ansys SpaceClaim for FEA users
Target Audience:
Engineers and Designers working with printing process for additive manufacturing.
Teaching Method:
Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge. A training certificate is provided to all attendees who complete the course.
