Ansys LS-DYNA Advanced
Dynamic Failure Analysis

Course Overview

This course focuses on modeling material failure phenomena and their industrial applications in electronics, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, civil, medical, defense, sports, and consumer products etc. Outstanding examples include but not limited to material failure in electronic packaging, crashworthiness, turbine engine safety, bird-striking, joining and assembly process, drop test, metal fabrication, among others. A wide range of natural and man-made materials is considered such as metal alloy, glass, plastic, foam, composite (laminate, fiber reinforced), and concrete. The failure process to be modeled spans from low-speed deformation to high strain rate dynamic response, such as ductile and brittle failure, crack propagation, delamination (in laminates) and fragmentation.

  • Basic knowledge of running an LS-DYNA simulation and LS-DYNA keyword.

Target Audience

Structural engineers who are interested in modeling material failure in multiple industries.

Teaching Method

Lectures and Illustrations with Examples.
