The rapidly developing innovation of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and highly autonomous vehicle systems is driving the automotive industry to rethink safety standards. Manufacturers need not only consider functional safety (e.g., ISO 26262), but also the safety of the intended functionality (SOTIF), which focuses on hazards that can occur even in the absence of system failure. With these standards intensifying the focus on safety verification, safety analysis and simulation will have to work closely together in the future for manufacturers to efficiently and successfully meet all requirements.

ANSYS medini analyze now supports SOTIF analysis of automotive systems. It specifically addresses the upcoming ISO/CD 21448 (“Road vehicles — Safety of the intended functionality”), by modeling the limitations and weaknesses of system components and (environmental) conditions that could trigger unwanted behaviors. In this webinar, we will demonstrate how manufacturers can easily navigate the systematic identification, evaluation and subsequent risk mitigation of these hazards.

Topics will include:

  • Updates on the status of SOTIF standardization and ISO/CD 21448
  • Innovations in ANSYS medini analyze for performing SOTIF analysis of ADAS and automated driving systems
  • Demonstrations of ANSYS medini analyze, using a highway pilot system as an example
  • A preview of future integration with our simulation environment, including ANSYS SCADE Vision
