Radiation heat transfer modeling is widely used in many industrial applications such as aerospace, process, and automotive. ANSYS Fluent offers 6 different radiation models that allows users to include radiation with or without a participating medium. Selecting a radiation model is extremely crucial and is dependent on several parameters ranging from the application physics being solved to the available computational resources.
This Tips & Tricks webinar will focus on these radiation models and their applicability. In addition to discussing the advantages and limitations of each model, this presentation will also provide some aspects related to model set-up and available boundary conditions.

Karthik Remella, Technical Support Engineer
Karthik Remella received his Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati in March 2018 and his dissertation identified the unique operation of a novel two-phase thermal management solution designed for cooling overhead light emitting diodes. He employed various mathematical models to not only understand the operating physics at various length scales but also formulated a set of guidelines for redesigning the thermal solution for other high power applications. In addition to this, Karthik has also worked on design and optimization of industrial microwave heating and non-Newtonian adhesive delivery systems for consumer product applications. He joined ANSYS as a Technical Support Engineer and wants to positively impact and grow ANSYS' customer base through simulation-driven product development.
