Abstract

This webinar will discuss the use and background theory of the Generalized Plane Strain method within ANSYS Mechanical, and will show the use with numerical examples. Generalized Plane Strain is a method to allow a 2D mesh to be used to solve problems where the Z deformation and rotation about the X or Y axes can be non zero.

Steve Varnam, Senior Manager, Technical Support

Steve Varnam manages the ANSYS European Mechanical Support group. He has a PhD in Applied Mechanics from UMIST and is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer. He has held various Technical roles with ANSYS and ANSYS Channel Partners, and has extensive experience of Structural, Thermal and Multiphysics analysis.
