An Integral Equation (IE) solver is available in HFSS, in addition to the standard FEM solver. The IE solver can be used to reduce the size of the problem to be solved, and thus reduce compute resource requirments. Take for example a horn fed reflector antenna. The IE solver can be used in such a way that the space between the horn and reflector is not meshed, as would have been done in a typical FEM approach. To invoke the IE solver, an IE region, or a region that combines IE and FEM (FEBI) needs to be defined. These regions are referred to as hybrid regions. This webinar will demonstrate how to set up these regions for simulation.
