Rosswag Staying Laser Focused with ANSYS Additive Print to Deliver Innovative and Complex Metal Printing Products

For more than 100 years, Edelstahl Rosswag — a leading supplier of open die-forged products — has successfully served a wide variety of industries. Its subsidiary, Rosswag Engineering, is the additive manufacturing (AM) arm of the company. To support its innovative AM processes, the subsidiary utilizes ANSYS Additive Print. The software eliminates expensive trial-and-error testing and allows Rosswag Engineering’s customers to optimize geometries for AM and reduce build failures.

Thermo-Mechanical Fatigue - White Paper

Thermo-mechanical fatigue (TMF) is an engineering challenge across the aviation, power, transportation and electronics industries. In the transportation industry, components like in-cylinder exhaust manifolds and turbochargers see high temperature and mechanical load variations that can lead to thermo-mechanical fatigue. TMF occurs in electronic components because of the increasing power density of electronic packages, plus their increased usage in harsh environments. ANSYS’ state-of-the-art nonlinear material models help to simulate creep and fatigue of metal alloys with high accuracy, eliminating time-consuming and costly physical testing. Once the material is characterized, ANSYS Mechanical and CFD solutions can study what the component experiences as it goes through the duty cycle.

Global Trends in Additive Manufacturing Simulation - Video

In this video, Dave Conover, chief technologist for additive manufacturing at ANSYS, discusses the revolutionary contribution that additive manufacturing (AM) simulation is making to the metal component manufacturing process. ANSYS solvers replace the traditional trial and error process of AM with a much more successful physics-based approach, so you can see any distortion or residual stresses in a build virtually, before any metal is laid down or melted. This eliminates guesswork and results in successful builds the first time. Watch this video to learn how the ANSYS Additive Suite and ANSYS Additive Print can make your AM efforts routine and predictable, eliminating wasted time and materials.
