A good mold design is crucial to ensure the efficiency of the production process and the correct functioning throughout its life cycle. The rheological (injection) simulation is already an industry standard, guaranteeing the necessary quality of the final part. However, the structural and thermal simulation of a mold also needs to be adopted to avoid failures due to thermal fatigue or erratic sizing.

Through ANSYS software it is now possible to perform a FSI (fluid-structure interaction) analysis, simulating the mechanical and thermal fatigue process, integrating the data of a rheological software such as Moldex3D.
