PLOT3D Interface

Solver Plot3d
Type of mesh multiblock mesh
Dimension 2D and 3D

The translator creates an "xyz" file in the PLOT3D file format. This file contains the grid information and optionally the IBLANK array.

Creating the PLOT3D Input File

The translator writes the PLOT3D input file using multiblock, the boundary condition file and the topology file. To create the PLOT3D input file, select the translator "PLOT3D" in the "Output" menu. After clicking "Write input" you can specify options for the PLOT3D interface:

The interface generates the PLOT3D file (xyz) located in the project directory. Formatted files get the extension .fmt, unformatted files get the extension .dat.

Defining boundary condition for PLOT3D (IBLANK array)

To define boundary condition click on the "BC" icon in the "Output" menu. Supported boundary conditions are:

Boundary conditions Value(s)
IBLANK value

enter any IBLANK value (default 1)

IBLANK values with special meanings are:

The IBLANK values 1, 2, and -n are generated by the translator.
