Note: ICEM 2D grids can be used to create a planar PHOENICS 2D grid with a defined thickness. If the PHOENICS 2D grid is non-planar or has a non-constant thickness you need to create an ICEM 3D grid with 1 layer of elements.

Phoenics solver CCM

The translator produces the PHOENICS Element Neutral file (PEN) and a set of grid files, one for each domain (i1, i2, ... in). The PEN file contains a skeleton Q1 definition, which activates PHOENICS in 3D BFC mode, with the multiblock/fine-grid embedding option. These files are then read by the general PHOENICS input translator to create the input file Q1, and grid files G1, G2, .., Gn.

Phoenics solver GCV

The translator produces the PHOENICS input file (Q1), and a set of grid files, one for each domain (G1, G2,   Gn). The Q1 file contains a skeleton definition, which activates PHOENICS in 3D BFC mode, with the GCV multi-block option.

Creating the PHOENICS Input Files

The translator writes the PHOENICS input files using the multiblock structured mesh, the boundary condition file and the topology file. To create the PHOENICS input files, select the translator "Phoenics" in the "Output" menu. After clicking "Write input" you can specify options for the PHOENICS interface:

Defining boundary conditions, properties and entity name

To define boundary condition click on the "BC" icon in the "Output" menu. Supported boundary conditions are:
