ANSYS Mechanical Solutions - Add-on Modules
Dynamics Application Example
Various add-on modules are available for ANSYS Mechanical products which complement and enhance the capabilities of ANSYS Mechanical Solutions. Integration within the Simulation environment offers access to various related add-on modules in addition to the core mechanics technology.
- ANSYS DesignModeler: The DesignModeler tool is a Workbench application from ANSYS that provides modeling functions unique for simulation that include detailed geometry creation, CAD geometry modification and concept model creation tools.

- ANSYS DesignXplorer: The DesignXplorer tool works from within the Workbench solution to perform Robust Design analyses of any Workbench simulation, including those with CAD parameters. The DesignXplorer software allows users to study, quantify and graph various structural and thermal analysis responses on parts and assemblies. It incorporates both traditional and nontraditional optimization through a goal-driven optimization method.

- ANSYS Fatigue Module: The Fatigue module adds the capability to simulate performance under anticipated cyclic loading conditions over the anticipated product life span. The Fatigue module supports both stress based and strain based fatigue, constant amplitude, proportional loading and non-constant amplitude, proportional loading. Contour plots display fatigue life, damage, factor of safety, stress biaxiality, equivalent reversed stress and fatigue sensitivity.

- ANSYS Mechanical HPC: ANSYS Mechanical HPC brings together a wide variety of High Performance Computing (HPC) solutions together including VT AcceleratorTM and Distributed ANSYS.
- VT Accelerator provides a 2X-5X speedup for the initial solutions depending on the hardware, model, and type of analysis for solutions for nonlinear structural and thermal analyses, and harmonic analysis. VT Accelerator makes re-solves 3X to 10X faster for parameter changes, allowing for effective simulation driven parametric studies of nonlinear and transient analyses in a cost-effective manner.
- Distributed ANSYS offers shared and distributed computing capabilities for the entire solution phase, including the stiffness matrix generation, linear equation solving and results calculations. With multiple processors and memory distribution you can see significant speedup in the time it takes to run your structural linear and nonl
