This is a hands-on workshop covering material testing, material modeling and finite element analysis of elastomers. Instructors from ANSYS, Inc. and Axel Products, Inc. present an integrated testing and analysis workshop using the experimental facilities of Axel Products, Inc. and ANSYS software. Attendees perform elastomer experiments using laboratory instruments to create data appropriate for use in building elastomer material models in FEA. Material models are then developed and examined on workstations running ANSYS. The use of hyperelastic and viscoelastic models in ANSYS will be covered, along with the curve-fitting routines available. An introduction to contact elements will provide users with an overview of ANSYS capabilities in this area. Six workshops will reinforce these topics in solving hyperelastic problems in ANSYS.
