How the Hardware Support Web Site Works:
The format of the web pages in the Hardware Support section of the ANSYS web site allows users to choose what they want to see. When a user chooses a topic from a drop-down box, a database is queried to find the results. The database is filled with results supplied by ANSYS testers and Vendor testers.
This format allows users to make specific queries about the information they want to see and get the results in "real-time".
Basic Usage:
To make queries, users can start from the Hardware Support main web page. From here, they can choose which Product and Version they would like to see information about. The next choice allows users to select specific information about a Product and Release (certified systems, for instance). Next, the user can choose how to specify the query further. Finally, when all choices are made, the database is queried and the results are shown.
Definitions:
Supported Platforms: The collection of hardware (chip set) and software (operating system) combinations on which the ANSYS software is expected to function properly are defined as the Supported Platforms. A Supported Platform may or may not have been certified.
Certified Platforms: Certified Platforms are the subset of Supported Platforms on which the ANSYS software has been tested. This testing includes batch, interactive, graphics and performance testing. Full systems (computer, graphics card, operating system, etc.) are certified. Additionally, just the operating system or just the graphics cards/drivers may also be certified.
