Overview:

The intent of this Quick Start Licensing Guide is to give you a very simple overview of the steps required to install the ANSYS license manager and license keys on a license server machine. This information applies to installing the ANSYS license manager with all ANSYS 11.0 products, including ANSYS, ANSYS Workbench, ANSYS CFX, ANSYS ICEM CFD, and ANSYS ANSYS AUTODYN. ANSYS 11.0 will be used throughout this guide to refer to all ANSYS 11.0 products. Follow the instructions in the ANSYS, Inc. Installation Guide for your platform when installing ANSYS 11.0.

If you are an existing customer and already have a valid license key, begin with Section I, below. If you did not receive a license key with your ANSYS 11.0 package, begin with Section II. If you did receive a license key with your ANSYS 11.0 package, begin with Section III. A license-manager only installation is described in Section IV.

If you are installing in a three-license server environment, the procedures below must be performed on all three license servers.

The license manager has been upgraded to FLEXlm 10.8.0.7. You must run the license manager installation on all of your license servers to ensure that you have the most current version. See the ANSYS, Inc. Licensing Guide for more information.

Migrating to the ANSYS FLEXlm License Manager

The information in this guide applies only to the ANSYS FLEXlm license manager. If you are still running the licensing from an earlier version of ANSYS CFX, ANSYS ICEM CFD, or ANSYS ANSYS AUTODYN, that licensing should work with the ANSYS 11.0 release.
