ANSYS EKM manages the richness and complexity of simulation data in a way that makes it easy for the individual to function in a workgroup, while making it possible to share the context of simulation with CAE users enterprise-wide. It allows for connections to local or remote repositories, encouraging CAE collaboration across dispersed teams.
ANSYS EKM offers advanced search and purging, data security and archiving based on corporate governance models, along with full traceability and transaction history on all simulation IP. Data management via EKM ensures repeatability and consistency of data and processes. When data from a CAE source such as ANSYS solutions, other commercial software or in-house codes is added to ANSYS EKM, certain predefined metadata, reports and images are automatically extracted and stored in EKM. You can search, retrieve, compare, review and visualize this additional information to reuse the data.

Most leading engineering companies have centralized data centers at remote locations that provide simulation users access to high-performance computing (HPC) resources for analyzing large simulation models that cannot be solved otherwise. Analysts can access these resources only from their workstations. More often than not, they cannot track the real-time progress of their simulation run on remote HPC resources; this can waste expensive computer and software resources if the run fails. And because simulation results files are typically large, transferring them from remote data centers to analysts’ local workstations for further processing is slow and expensive.
EKM works as an HPC enabler, letting multiple simulation analysts in different locations access remote HPC resources using a simple, easy-to-use web browser interface. By connecting with the remote compute resource using a web browser, an analyst can start a batch or interactive job for simulation. The progress of the job will be graphically displayed in real time in the web browser interface. Analysts can pause, control and restart the job if the progress is not satisfactory, and can initiate multiple jobs using the web interface. The progress of each job can be tracked separately.using any browser-based device, such as a tablet, laptop, smartphone or desktop computer.
