A mesh generated in ICEM CFD Hexa can be automatically joined to
an ICEM CFD Tetra mesh. The 2 meshes are interfaced with pyramid
cells.
You can then prism thru both sections.
The main benefits for this approach are:
1) You can
reduce the global cell count by meshing the simple parts with HEXA,
2) You can use TETRA cells to quickly mesh more complex or less critical volumes,
