CFD studies of the flow through fans and blowers are becoming more and more intensive. This interest is due to the wide range of applications for fans in our daily lives including household appliances and auto vehicle cooling systems. Noise generated by these machines is now becoming a concern early in the design process rather than a problem to be corrected during the production stage. One of the major problems facing engineers is to design fans with higher performance and less noise emission.
