

High Frequency Electromagnetic analysis is critical in understanding the performance of RF MEMS and MMIC devices such as mode switches, microstripline components such as bandpass filters, and passive devices such as spiral inductors and micro-antenna geometry. ANSYS Multiphysics provides a full wave, free space high-frequency electromagnetic analysis capability. It is finite element based, and solves Maxwell's equations in the frequency domain. Is is applicable to interior class problems such as waveguides and cavities, and exterior problems such as antenna radiation patterns. ANSYS Multiphysics includes dielectric and eddy current losses and is thus able to compute heat generation rates that can be sequentially coupled into thermal and thermal structural physics.
