Modeling with ANSYS CFX provides insight into features of in-cylinder flows which would be difficult and expensive to obtain experimentally. Simulations allow easy investigation of valve and port design and can lead to improved engine performance through better breathing and more uniform induction charge distribution. Within the cylinder itself, moving and deforming grids can simulate the piston and valve motion, while advance combustion models predict the complex combustion processes.
