ANSYS CFX computational fluid dynamics software has been used to determine the effects of local geometry changes on the aerodynamic forces and provides a significant capability to directly compare two different designs. This reduces dependence on time-consuming and expensive clay models and wind-tunnel testing and delivers faster design turn-around. The superior turbulence models in CFX provide significant advantages in the accuracy of aerodynamic analysis.
