General Session Venue
Standing as a symbol of the “new” Pittsburgh region, the David L. Lawrence Convention Center is an innovative structure connecting the urban city to the waterfront overlooking the Allegheny River. This landmark building has become the cornerstone of Pittsburgh’s transformation with breathtaking views of the North Shore and downtown Pittsburgh from its concourses, balconies and terraces. Additionally, the Center has been certified by the U.S. Green Building Council with a Gold LEED rating. As the first “green” convention center and the world’s largest “green” building, the Center capitalized on its environmentally smart structure by utilizing natural daylight and natural ventilation to light and heat the building and incorporating a water-reclamation system that reduces potable water use. The Convention Center is connected to the Westin Hotel (which is providing accommodations) via a skywalk.
