Mechanical Applications Engineer
ANSYS, Inc. has a permanent full-time vacancy for a Mechanical Applications Engineer, within the Mechanical Technical Services Group based in the UK.
The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of FE technology and will make a contribution to the business as a recognised expert in their particular technical discipline. They will be responsible for providing in-depth technical expertise in their specific industrial area and general advice and guidance within a wider range of related industrial applications.
Job Description:
As a member of the Mechanical Technical Services Group, having the drive and enthusiasm to work independently or as part of a team, the candidate will work on a wide variety of support activities:
- Prepare and perform ANSYS software pre-sales support for clients, including demonstrations, benchmarking and technical support for sales activities
- Undertake ANSYS software post-sales support for customers by responding to helpdesk or web queries.
- Carry out small-scale consultancy and funded development projects
- Deliver customised training for clients, design and write training materials and assist with practical sessions
- Feed back client requests and defects to development and maintain awareness of current development
- Assist in the production of technical marketing material for meetings, seminars and conferences.
- Planning and progress reporting.
- Other job related duties that may be assigned by management from time to time.
Minimum Requirements:
- Good honors degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related subject
- Keen interest and working knowledge of numerical methods
- Able to use ANSYS multiphysics software
- A good knowledge, via industrial experience or post-graduate studies, in numerical simulation applications (FEA)
- In depth technical expertise in at least one engineering speciality and general expertise in a wide range of industrial areas.
- Good customer focus, with excellent written and interpersonal communication skills as well as the ability to listen.
- Able to manage their time well, work on their own initiative and have proven problem solving skills.
