The following table shows the node size limits applied to the ANSYS Academic products. Limits vary by physics. Generally "field" physics such as electromagnetics and CFD will have larger limits than thermal or structural within the same product. Also not all products have all the physics exposed, this is designated by a gray table cell.

Footnotes:
1. ANSYS Mechanical Direct coupled field elements available for coupled thermal-structural etc.
2. ANSYS DesignSpace & ANSYS TAS capability have no problem size limits.
3. ANSYS AUTODYN limits are 10K nodes for 2D and 50K nodes for 3D
4. Academic Research & Academic Associate level products have No problem size limits applied to the available physics.
5. The numbers refer to the maximum number of nodes (or elements) allowed in a model. In traditional ANSYS this is not the same as the total number of nodes or elements. As user should issue a NUMCMP command to effectively compresses out unused node/element numbers in a model by renumbering all the items.
