Fluent Academic Product Tutorials
ANSYS, Inc.'s FLUENT software product has been employed in both undergraduate and graduate level engineering classes for decades. The generalized FLUENT solver allows faculty to teach CFD theory across a wide variety of disciplines, while taking advantage of existing pre- and post-processing utilities. This allows more time for students to learn fundamentals and theory.
The following FLUENT Teaching & FLUENT Research compatible tutorials are available to familiarize new users with setting up, solving, and post-processing CFD problems. These tutorials expose the user to a wide range of physical models and multiphysics. The tutorials use simplified geometry & and relatively coarse mesh discretization for quick & easy set up & solution.
Note that additional tutorials are available to customers registered on the Fluent User Services Center. ANSYS Inc. also provides a range of commercial grade CFD training courses at additional cost.
Tutorials:
- Cavity - 2D laminar fluid flow for a lid-driven cavity.
- Manifold

Mesh Files:
The above tutorials include mesh files, however both FLUENT Research & FLUENT Teaching products include GAMBIT & TGrid preprocessors which can be used to create geometry & meshes. FLUENT Research & FLUENT Teaching can also import meshes from other preprocessors that are supported by FLUENT 6, such as ANSYS ICEM CFD.
