ANSYS, Inc. provides engineering simulation software for SAE student members participating in Formula SAE and Formula Student competitions. The students use our academic engineering software to virtual prototype may aspects of their small formula-style racing cars. The car frame, suspension & engines are restricted, so competition is close and students are challenged to seek out the absolute best performance from their vehicle. The cars are built with a team effort over a period of about one year and compete at an annual competition for judging and comparison with approximately 120 other vehicles from colleges and universities throughout the world. For more details about the Formula SAE competition see the SAE International website, and for more details about the Formula Student competition see the Formula Student website.
