- This course is intended for existing users of FLUENT software looking for systematic training on geometry creation and meshing tools as well as the simulation workflow in ANSYS Workbench.
- Experience with ANSYS Workbench environment will be beneficial, but not necessary.
Overview
The ANSYS Workbench Pre-processing and Simulation Workflow Training for ANSYS Fluent Users course is a 2-day course designed for existing ANSYS Fluent users that have experience with FLUENT software but minimal or no experience with ANSYS Workbench. The course will benefit GAMBIT (previous pre-processing tool for FLUENT) users in making a complete transition over to ANSYS Workbench. It will also help current users of ANSYS Workbench pre-processing tools by staying abreast of new features.
Course Description
The course will begin by introducing the geometry creation application, ANSYS DesignModeler. Geometry import via CAD connectivity, creation by sketching & from primitives and clean-up options will be discussed. Then, the assembly meshing and selective meshing workflows in the ANSYS Mesher will be taught. Assembly meshing procedure allows users to mesh the entire geometry at once with minimal effort whereas the selective meshing procedure allows users to combine different mesh methods for different bodies & also specify their order of meshing. Then, the various ways of running FLUENT within the ANSYS Workbench environment such as foreground, background, via RSM (Remote Solve Manager) on a remote cluster, etc. will be presented. Finally, the students will learn how to build design point tables & various ways of running them.
This course includes hands-on workshops to help students learn the concepts covered in the class.
