More Information

Prerequisites

  • A basic knowledge of dynamics and strength of materials (material modeling) is highly recommended.
  • Knowledge of the physics of transient dynamics events is also recommended.
  • Completion of the Intro to ANSYS Explicit STR course.

Course Description

This 2-day course is designed for users who are familiar with Explicit Dynamics in Workbench, who want to become proficient with the advanced options available in AUTODYN. You will focus on learning core-modeling skills in this comprehensive, hands-on course. After completing the course you will be well prepared to work effectively using Explicit Dynamics and AUTODYN on a wide range of transient dynamics applications.

Course Topics Include:

  • Introduction
  • AUTODYN User Interface
  • Problem Setup
  • AUTODYN in Workbench
  • Euler Solvers
  • ALE Solver
  • Mesh-free Solver
  • Advanced Material Models
    • Orthotropic materials
    • Layered shells
    • Rigid materials
    • Reactive materials
    • Hands-on (Detonation)
    • Material modeling guidelines
  • Euler-Lagrange Interactions

Each course chapter is followed by "hands-on" workshops and exercises.

AUTODYN Application Day

An optional application day is offered on the day following the two-day Intro to ANSYS AUTODYN training course. The application day is optional but strongly recommended for all users of ANSYS AUTODYN. This day is a great wrap-up to the AUTODYN training and provides the students with the opportunity to start working on their first AUTODYN analysis with guidance from the instructor or instructors involved in the training. When you register for the Intro to ANSYS AUTODYN training, you will be given the option to register for application day and pay an additional $600 for the day of training.
