New functionality has been added, including scripting capabilities, edge repair tools and a weld creation tool for shell models. Existing analysis tools, such as imprinting, midsurfacing and beam support, have also been improved.

Learn about two major enhancements to SpaceClaim Direct Modeler (in addition to those mentioned above): an STL-to-solid tool called Skin Surface and a faceted data simplification called Shrinkwrap. Skin Surface adds more reverse engineering capabilities by building surface geometry on prismatic or organic shapes, such as scan data from a living organism. Shrinkwrap couples with Skin Surface to smooth over rough scans (or dirty CAD data) and further solidifies any faceted model.
