A straightforward design flow that can efficiently address this design challenge starts with narrowband filter design concepts, followed by modern cross-coupled filter principles. The resulting prototype filter can be turned into a 3D FEM model using ANSYS HFSS. Advances in Joule Heating Analysis of a PCB Using Two-way ...
PCB design involves three broad areas of product reliability: electrical, thermal and mechanical. Interactive multiple physics simulations are required for optimal design. A DC IR drop simulation in ANSYS SIwave generates power dissipation data for the copper layers, which can be transferred to ANSYS Icepak for thermal simulation. Iteration between the two solvers yields a converged power dissipation map and temperature profile, which can be used to evaluate structural and thermal stresses in ANSYS Mechanical. ANSYS has introduced a user-friendly Electric Machines Design Toolkit that is integrated into ANSYS Maxwell to make the process easier. Join this webinar to discover how the toolkit computes and displays torque speed curves and efficiency maps for PM machines, and integrates effects such as skewing, DC/AC winding resistance, end-turn winding inductance, frequency-dependent core loss coefficients and mechanical loss.
