Multiphysics Optimization of an LED Light Bulb Using ANSYS
Electronics engineers feel the extreme pressures to design an optimized products. To accurately capture the real world phenomenon, they include multiphysics solutions and available optimization techniques during the design stage. ANSYS Icepak 15.0 links to ANSYS DesignXplorer within the ANSYS Workbench framework. This capability allows a more robust parametrization and multiphysics optimization using inputs from multiple Workbench modules. This webinar showcases DesignXplorer optimization of an LED light bulb heat sink using geometric input parameters from ANSYS DesignModeler and output parameters from Icepak and ANSYS Structural. The optimized design includes a minimal heat sink mass and thermal stress while constraining the temperature to a given limit.

Customizing ANSYS Mechanical Using the Application ...
The ANSYS Application Customization Toolkit (ACT) is a package of tools that enables the end user to customize ANSYS Mechanical. ACT provides the end user simple programming-level access to main components of the Mechanical product (e.g., GUI, mesh, geometry, boundary conditions, etc.) in a Python programming environment. One of the many customization possibilities ACT offers is the ability to replace MAPDL command objects by creating specialized interfaces for company or industry specific applications. These specialized interfaces can simplify and standardize many Mechanical actions. ANSYS DesignModeler and ANSYS DesignXplorer users realize significant enhancements and ease-of-use improvements ACT in ANSYS 15.0. This webinar explains the basic functions and uses of ACT. It discusses implementation and provides examples.
