Introduction to HFSS 12.1
HFSS 12.1 software introduces a new integral equation (IE) solver. This solver, HFSS-IE, is a full-wave 3-D method of moments (MoM) technology that is very effective and efficient for solving large open radiated problems, such as radar cross sections and antenna placement. These specific types of problems will solve more efficiently using an integral equation methodology than the traditional finite element method used in HFSS which remains the most efficient and accurate method for solving RF components and microwave devices. The solver is implemented in the HFSS desktop allowing for an easy transition to the new capability for existing users of HFSS. In addition HFSS 12.1 improves on the new breakthrough domain decomposition (DDM) solver technology introduced in 12.0 with the inclusion of mixed order elements.
