Industrial Transition Modeling And Applications In Aerospace And Turbomachinery Industries
Transitional boundary layer flows are important in many applications of engineering interest, such as aircraft wings, flaps, turbomachinery blade rows and wind turbines. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technology has advanced significantly into the design process in recent years, as numerical methods have improved and computational power has become less expensive. Along with this advance, the importance of transition modeling in the design has paved the way for coupling transition correlations to CFD solvers.
